so for the chain of command verse, I’m highly intrigued on how supe!reader and homelander would be as parents

two individuals with issues and no therapy? no problem! (jk it is a problem, please get them help and not a child). minor spoilers for the boys s3

warnings for manipulation, toxic relationship (it’s Homelander are we surprised), mention of a pregnancy but no gender for the reader is actually established, more like a what if thing

if I need to tag anything else please let me know.

First off, I feel like there would be a slight difference between a child that is Ryan, who Homelander kinda just sets down in front of the reader and goes “Hey we have a kid.” But a little more excited bc if anything we’ve seen, he could have been a decent dad???? Shit is crazy y’all.

And he’s not like extremely young either, so he can probably notice that while Homelander is more into being a parent, the Reader lowkey leaving the emotional stuff to him. Like they’ll still be around him and all that but bonding between Reader and Ryan (who is also probably just as traumatized now that he lost his actual mother and the father figure he thought of Butcher) is like walking on egg shells.

also the reader is highkey manipulative of John to get him to do things. They’ve got that man wrapped around their fingers so Ryan would probably end up dealing with something similar. But that’s mostly to lord power over John in another way. They’re already getting under his skin in the last post (“Do you think I like being disappointed in you?”). So I can only imagine a child added to everything else is a time.

Now, it the reader from the verse had a child with him, we gotta think abt two things.

One) for simplicity’s sake I’m gonna use John bc autocorrect is being annoying, but anyway- it would take him so long to convince the reader to have a child. Like, think about a kid asking for a dog but it’s a grown ass man who wants to have a baby with someone manipulating him into thinking he couldn’t survive without the billion dollar corporation that was responsible for like all of his issues and then some. (He could, it would be difficult without the money, the influence, etc. But i think it’s posible even tho it might not be great JDKSJD ??) first time, he got shut down so quick and they even laughed at him. Reader is a career person first and foremost, they aren’t gonna have a child that could potentially take them out of commission for who knows how long bc supe babies are way stronger than normal babies so who knows what can happen.

Two) Depending on how long the relationship has developed bc while I haven’t written them out into like fics fully, I have some form of how it happens in mind. we have the first fic in the verse showing that John and the Reader are both powerful, so in no way can John really have influence on them like he does to Vought employees that are terrified of him killing them. And the reader knows what Madeline did and how she died for it so they basically are just “let’s not do that.” And make him think all the choices are his own (when they really aren’t but semantics). Like Reader would probably have to plan smth that would include either acquiring a baby or birthing them if they have the anatomy for it (idk I didn’t get that far in deciding if reader had a gender LMAO). Bc again, John is a very. volatile. piece in a big puzzle. So they really would have done it if there was some benefit in some way.

All in all, if John had more therapy and Reader was not themselves, maybe they’d be an alright family? Alright is a term that’s a bit of a stretch.

But in terms of canon, do not let them have a kid djksjdks

i feel like yuta & hinata would turn to slightly different strategies when it comes to helping the other. hinata might head more straight on? whereas i think yuta would be a bit more subtle, more about talking and trying to get the other person to speak up and reassure them of their feelings. hinata strikes me as the type to convince yuta's future s/o to go on a date with him (fully platonic, you know what i mean) only to drag yuta by the scruff of his neck like a tiny kittenand go "yeaaaah i forgot i had something to do today! you two enjoy the date for me, okay? <3". and then he proceeds to pat yuta in the back like you got this man, big bro hinata supports you! embarrassing big brother vibes BUT I LOVE HIM <33 worry not, yuta will surely get his revenge as soon as hinata falls for someone...

OH HI DKSJDJS YES IT IS VERY LATE ITS ABOUT 5AM RN IM ON A TRAIN TO THE AIRPORT THATS WHY IM UP I WOULD USUALLY NEVER BE ALIVE AT THIS HOUR

okay wait that’s kind of precious those walkers are so cute and tbh they Are helpful!! but JDJAJD that’s a funny way to pull muscles— so for your sides you’ll wanna do an oblique stretch like in this photo:

just reaching over to the sides like that, and for a deeper stretch you can set your feet apart, bend at the waist, and grab hold of one ankle at a time, you’ll feel that in the side opposite of the ankle. for your back maybe a child’s pose? or even just bending at the waist w feet apart and letting the torso hang down. that part under your thighs, the inside of the knee up can be released with a hamstring stretch!

something like this— you wanna made sure your hips are back so you feel it in your leg, or you can do one lying down and just pulling your leg up, trying to keep it straight and holding it there w your hands (it’s no longer letting me add pictures idk why) anyways sorry for like word vomiting stretches to you JDKSJDS i’ve just been there Too many times and particularly sore hamstrings are the bane of my existence ! so i try to help others avoid this !

as for how i do it: 1. having your own skates is an absolute game changer i can never go back to rentals i think i’d crash and burn and die 2. i stayed consistent with it for years 3. i am a mild masochist i suppose?? skating seriously gets you very accustomed to pain and getting banged up and sometimes the mark of a successful session is being bruised up from falling JDJAJDBS it’s part of the process ! idk i’ve sold my soul to the sport

Jokes aside Thank you so much! I’ve been feeling like I was losing my grip on anatomy so this is really sweet of you to say :’) I’m no professional but I tried my best to compile some little tips that helped me out a lot when I was starting out (and still do!) I hope they’ll be of help!

Bonus tip: I like to study from classical paintings sometimes! Redrawing real life humans is still probably the best way to really get a grip on anatomy (life drawing is your BEST friend) but I find it gets a little tedious after a few hours. Paintings (especially those from the renaissance & Dutch golden age) tend to give me that extra KICK to keep going. Here’s a few examples if you’re interested!

his mother is a stone cold w*tch !! she’s always been super distant and cold towards apollo since she had to put her dreams on hold to raise a child or whatever :/ 

his father was really only around to be a leech and complain. 

he spent a lot more time with his grandmother, who owns the lil flower shop he works at. as he’s gotten older he’s taken on more responsibility of the shop to give her a break.

lowkey really talented artist, often spends his free time painting with art supplies he pocketed. he’s really critical on his work so most of it never sees the light of day. 

he also dabbles in tattooing and has probably designed and attempted some very likely to get infected tattoos for his friends.
